1) You’ll need a website design and some user-interface planning. We want it to look great and be easily navigable. We can help you through the design process or help you select a ready-made look to customize. We’ll work with you to plan your content and sitemap so the website is actually useful.
2) Hosting and domain setup: we’ll help you research domain names, buy the domain, and set up hosting for your new site. If you already have a website, then we’ll review your setup to make sure you’re not throwing money away. We usually recommend 1and1.
3) We get to work. We’ll apply the design to your new self-hosted WordPress site. You get to see it before it goes live, we’ll make final changes, set it up with some start-up SEO, and BAM… you’ve got a fancy new site.
4) Analytics: we’ll set you up with Google Analytics, which is a free service from Google that helps you see all sorts of details like website traffic, traffic sources, and much more.
The sites we develop from scratch generally land between $5,000 and $15,000, depending on size of the site, level of custom coding necessary, and other factors. How much a WordPress conversion costs depends on the size and complexity of the old site. We’ll guide you through the planning so your site can stay within your budget.
The first time that I met with Lacy she was personable and really listened to what I was saying to her. She heard me loud and clear and came back with an exceptional product. I am so happy with my website and its content, [DiveBomb] has gone outside the scope of the project to help guide me through the social media mine field […]. I value her opinion, and would highly recommend [DiveBomb Media] to anyone looking to get socially connected and project a professional image through web design and development. I will continue to use [DiveBomb] to assist my company with getting and staying socially connected. – Cindy H.
Wordpress is an open-source content management system (CMS), which means that every bit of code was created by a community of developers for use within the community. That means no proprietary software (you won’t be stuck with a certain company’s product like you are with SiteBuilder-type setups) and a healthy, competitive system that fosters creation of solid, useful code.
Think of WordPress as a little pearl of a management system. It will need a shell. WordPress is simple a content management system that is built to be applied to all sorts of designs, meaning no one website has to look exactly like another. DiveBomb takes your custom website design files (or helps you through that process) and translates them into a fully functional website with all the bells and whistles.
And no, no one has to know you’re using WordPress. That will be nowhere on your site.
